Coffee Expo Seoul 2019 at COEX, Seoul (11~14 April) is one of the major coffee expos (another one would be Seoul Cafe Show 2019 in late Autumn), and is just open from today so I went to see and meet the people in the field.

It feels always very fresh and exciting whenver I join the exhibition, and today was no exception. Actually this year's market focus country is Guatemala, I also love the coffee from the country with smoky flavour, but this time I got amped on another one, Vietnam coffee. I didn't think I would meet one today, really but I did. How lucky!

I never experienced proper Vietnamese coffee, only knew the coffee is very strong and drink with condensed milk. It sounded very exotic indeed, so I tried myself at home or cafe for curiosity but never sure if it would taste same, or at least similar.

The exhibitor was from Vietnam, Hanoi, named HanCoffee, and had a chain in Shenzen. The booth no. is A615, near to the Guatemala showcase.

I could not ask as they were kind of busy, how they came to Korea - well, no specific meaning, just curiosity ;) - still they were very kind and willing to communicate with people and very energetic! They looked very good and lovely! Wish I had more time talking with them about the country and especially about the coffee!

I am used to so called arabica type, not really used to robusta - not to mention high quality ones, and I got the chance to taste very Vietnamese one there! XD

I tried the brewed coffee straight from the phins with condensed milk and felt very different - coffee was of course very strong, but still the flavour was there!

Somewhat nutty and buttery taste from the milk, and the bitter sweet after-taste. Very different from ordinary arabica-based brew coffee, exotic feeling. Is it the coffee, or the phin that makes different taste, I wondered so I bought the phin and the robusta beans (though ground) on the way.

The barista was very professional and the ladies were kind and willing, I really wished I had a bit more time to talk with them. Anyway I am back with the phin and coffee to treat myself. :)

They have their business at Hanoi. I do have mine here at Seoul. Far each other, but hope they will have great business and be happy there!

For those who would want to see the Expo photos, I will post another one soon (though may be written in Korean, but shouldn't be too hard to understand it). And also the coffee I brewed with this phins! :)

PS) Ahh.. I should have taken more photos with them.. I not really regret this, Sorry! T_T
